Bioprofile™ thread

The Myriad™ implant form is based on the Anaform™ root shape design which is by far the most proven and versatile shape for immediate and delayed implantation. The tapered body design is also proven to perform better in early load as well as soft bone situations.

The Bioprofile™ is an asymmetrical, self tapping and surface extensive thread design.

Bioprofile™ essentially comprises one synchronized self tapping thread composed of three distinct thread profiles that are adapted to three different levels of bone biology.

These three thread profiles synergize to deliver the unique self tapping, osteocompressive and stabilization characteristics of the implant body, while enhancing overall surface area and optimizing the dissipation of forces at the cortical neck bone level.
The apical cancellous portion of the implant features a deep, actively asymmetrical cutting thread with a depth of 0.35mm that enhances the self tapping and osteocompressive properties of the design in the softer cancellous bone areas.
The middle segment comprises a surface extensive asymmetrical double thread with a self tapping property that cuts into the bone actively, thereby preserving bone mass and optimizing bone fill of the threads. This improves mechanical stability and speeds up the osseointegration process.
The microthreads in the marginal bone provide greater stability with reduced crestal bone resorption. Axisymmetric finite element analysis studies have demonstrated a combination of a conical implant abutment connection, with a microthread in crestal bone with sufficient wall thickness and a factored modulus of elasticity results in axial loading stresses to be transmitted lower down in the bone. This combination greatly reduces the incidence of marginal/crestal bone loss

Tri-cone™ connection

The Myriad-Plus™ system features the Tri-cone™ 17 degree internal cone abutment connection. The conical connection from an engineering perspective is one of the most stable mechanical implant abutment connections.

The Tri-cone™ three position internal indexing allows for torque transfer during implant placement as well as facilitates indexing for crown and bridge abutments.

The Tri-cone™ conical connection provides a zero micromotion solid connection that virtually removes the risk of screw loosening and subsequent breakage. The tight bacteria proof seal minimizes stress induced resorption in the marginal bone by optimally distributing load and ensures inflammation free and healthy peri-implant soft tissue.


In-plane Switching™

The In-Plane Switching™ concept that controls crestal bone loss around dental implants is incorporated in all Myriad™ implant designs.

The implant-abutment interface diameter switch in combination with the Tri-cone™ conical connection and the external cortical implant microthreads provide the elements that ensure the most stable and predictable soft and hard tissue peri-implant interface.

In-Plane Switching™ shifts the implant abutment interface and axial forces to a more central and apical position, away from the implant shoulder perimeter. This optimizes stress distribution along the body of the implant thereby stabilizing the implant abutment connection interface.

In-plane Switching™

In-Plane Switching™ also provides a wider platform for bone deposition and soft tissue attachment at the bone crest. Keeping in sync with the In-Plane Switching™ concept, all the Myriad™ single piece transmucosal implants incorporate a switch area that provides a crestal bone lock.

Uno prosthetic platform™

Through the entire family of the Myriad™ system the concept of maintaining one prosthetic platform through various diameters of implants has been adhered to.

The Uno prosthetic platform™ simplifies prosthetic procedures, laboratory communication and reduces component inventories for both the clinician and the laboratory.

Direct–to-site™ delivery

All Myriad™ implants are delivered in titanium vials that facilitate Direct-to-site™ delivery. Direct-to-site™ delivery circumvents the use of placement heads required for implant delivery to the osteotomy site that are time consuming and add an additional step to the surgical procedure.

All Myriad™ implants can be lifted out of their titanium vials using the insertion adapter connected to the torque ratchet or the surgical handpiece.

Direct–to-site™ delivery

All insertion adapters when inserted into the implant communicate a tactile click to confirm a secure fit of the insertion adapter into the implant.

Implants are directly lifted out of the packaging using the insertion adapter, directly delivered to the osteotomy site and torqued into place in one uninterrupted action.



Myriad-Plus™ implants are available in various lengths and diameters which makes it possible to restore missing teeth to the highest functional and esthetic standards.

Myriad-Plus™ implants are available in diameters D3.8mm, D4.5mm and D5.7mm in lengths L8mm, L9.5mm, L11mm, L13mm and L15mm.


Components – second stage uncovery

The Myriad-Plus™ cover screw that hermetically seals the implant during the osseointegration period is removed after uncovery.

Gingivaformers or healing abutments are available in two collar heights. The standard gingivaformer caters to soft tissue collar heights of 1-3mm.

The gingivaformer long can be used in cases where the soft tissue collar height ranges from 3-5mm.

Components – impressioning and transfers

Closed and open tray impression post options are available with Myriad-Plus™ for impression procedures. The closed tray impression posts are available in a standard and long collar height.

The impression posts have a well defined flat surface to aid in repositioning and indexing of the Tri-cone™ connection as well as a circumferential groove to ensure apico-coronal repositioning in the impression.

A plastic transfer cap that is indexed with the flat surface and locks into the impression ensures a 100% secure reposition into the transfer cap in the impression. The impression post serves also as a modifiable straight abutment for your final prostheses.

The Myriad-Plus™ open tray impression post is designed to securely lock into the impression for a pick-up open tray impression technique.

The open tray impression post is delivered with a long screw designed to extend through the impression.

The Myriad-Plus™ laboratory analog like all other prosthetic components is of a universal size and mirrors the Tri-cone™ connection within the implant.

COMPONENTS - Abutments

Myriad-Plus™ straight abutments are available in a standard and long collar height. The modifiable straight standard abutment for crown and bridge is used in soft tissue collar heights of 1-3mm whereas the long collared abutment is indicated in cases of collar heights of 3-5mm

All Myriad-Plus™ abutments are delivered with low friction coated abutment screws

Myriad-Plus™ angled abutments like the straight abutments are available in standard and long collar heights.

The angulation on the abutment is set at 15 degrees and can be further modified by the dental laboratory.

In cases of severe angulations beyond 15 degrees the cast to base resolve abutment can be used to make a customised abutment.

The Myriad-Plus™ resolve abutment is a high precious alloy cast-to base abutment used to prepare customised abutments in situations where implants are placed at severe angulations beyond 15 degrees.


The Myriad-Plus™ bridge abutment is a castable UCLA type abutment with a non-engaging interface indicated for use in screw retained bridges and hybrid prostheses.

The Myriad-Plus™ zirconix abutment is a universal zirconia abutment indicated for crown and bridge in the esthetic zone.

The Myriad-Plus™ PEEK biotemp abutment is a multi-purpose temporary abutment that can be used for temporary crowns and bridges, progressive bone loading in the posterior maxilla as well as for fabricating customised chairside healing abutments in anterior esthetic cases.


All Myriad™ Implants are delivered in a colour coded tamper proof outer packaging

The outer carton once opened contains patient record labels and a double sterile blister that houses the implant blister and the prosthetic section of the packaging.

The outer Myriad™ blister has a double peel off tab

One for the implant section and the other for the prosthetic section of the blister.

The implant section can be opened and the sterile implant blister dropped onto a sterile surface for the surgeon to handle.

The implant section of the blister contains the implant fixture that is housed in a titanium vial with the cover screw. The prosthetic section of the blister contains the gingivaformer, impression post cum straight abutment, transfer cap, abutment screw and laboratory analog.
